SMS-Magic Converse on Salesforce1 Overview 1.58

By configuring the basic settings of the Salesforce Mobile App, the user can use SMS-Magic Converse on Salesforce1 (SF1). Using the Quick Start Wizard, the user can enable the Converse Desk component to be available in the SF1 navigation menu.

Prerequisite

Some of the prerequisites to do before using SMS-Magic Converse on Salesforce1 (SF1) are as follows:

  • The SMS-Magic application is version 1.52 or higher.
  • Configure basic settings of Salesforce Mobile App on the Salesforce platform.
  • Install the Salesforce1 (SF1) mobile application on the mobile.

Configure Basic Settings Of Salesforce Mobile AppThe user configures the basic settings of the Salesforce Mobile App so that:

  • All users can access Salesforce from supported mobile browsers.
  • Users can access the mobile version on the web browser.
  • User can receive incoming notifications on mobile devices.

Configuring Basic Settings on Salesforce1 1.58


To configure basic settings of Salesforce Mobile App, do the following:
 

  1. From the Salesforce navigation on the top right click Setup.
     
  2.  

  3. Select Salesforce Mobile Quick Start by:
    • Using the Search Setup field, or
    • Using the Quick Find search field, or
    • Selecting Platform Tools > Apps > Mobile Apps > Salesforce > Salesforce Mobile Quick Start.
       

     

  4. Enable the mobile browser options.
  5. Enable the push notifications and in-app notifications.



Mobile Browser Options 1.58


The user enables mobile browser options to access Salesforce from supported mobile browsers. Also, by enabling the mobile browser options the users can access the mobile version on the web browser.

 

To enable the Mobile Browser Options, do the following:

  1. From the Salesforce navigation on the top right click Setup.
     
  2.  

  3. To enable the option, do one of the following:
    • Type Salesforce Settings in the Quick Find search field, or
    • Select Platform Tools > Apps > Mobile Apps > Salesforce > Salesforce Settings, or
    • Click Mobile Browser Options under the Security and Access Settings section on the Salesforce Mobile Setup page.
       

     

  4. Select Enable Salesforce mobile web under Mobile Browser App Settings on the Salesforce Settings page. The option is selected by default.
     



Notification Options 1.58

The user enables push notifications and in-app notifications in the Notification Options page so that users can receive incoming notifications on mobile devices.

 To enable the Notification Options, do the following:

 

  1. From the Salesforce navigation on the top right click Setup.
     
  2.  

  3. To enable the option, do one of the following:
    • Type Salesforce Notifications in the Quick Find search field, or
    • Select Platform Tools > Apps > Mobile Apps > Salesforce > Salesforce Notifications, or
    • Click Notifications Options under the Security and Access Settings section on the Salesforce Mobile Setup page.
       
  4. Select Enable inapp notifications and Enable push notifications under Notifications on the Salesforce Notifications page. The options are selected by default.
     



Converse Desk From Salesforce1 On Mobile 1.58

After enabling the Converse Desk on SF1, the user can access the Converse Desk on the SF1 through the mobile device. The user can see all the conversations in the Inbox of the Converse Desk.

To access the Converse Desk from SF1 on the mobile, do the following:

  1. Open SF1 on the mobile.
  2. Open the navigation menu and select Converse Desk.
     
  3.  

  4. Select what conversations to see.
     
  5.  

  6. The user can open any conversation in the Converse Desk and reply accordingly.
     



Register and Deploy 1.58

Register Domain

Overview

Prior to installing the SMS-Magic Converse, consider the following:

  • For users of Salesforce Lightning, the registering domain is mandatory.
  • For users of Salesforce Classic, the registering domain is recommended but not mandatory.

The advantages of registering the domain are:

  • A domain permits the use of several additional features of SMS-Magic Converse.
  • A domain helps you highlight the organization’s brand.
  • A domain provides additional security to the organization’s Salesforce.com.
  • A domain is also a prerequisite to using the Lightning components such as the Lightning pages and the Lightning App Builder.
  • A domain is necessary to use standalone apps with Salesforce.com.

Procedure to Register A Domain

  1. From the Salesforce navigation on the top right click and then click Setup.
  2. Select My Domain by:
    • Using the Search Setup field, or
    • Using the Quick Find search field, or
    • Selecting Computer Settings > My Domain.
  3. On the My Domain Step 1 page enter the domain name.
  4. Click Check Availability to check the availability of the domain name.
  5. If the domain is available, then click Register Domain. If the domain is unavailable, enter a new domain name and check its availability.
  6. On registering your domain an email is sent from Salesforce.com with the following subject line  Your Developer Edition domain ready for testing.
  7. Open the email message and click the link to go to My Domain Step 2.
  8. Refresh the My Domain page. The My Domain Step 3 page appears.
  9. Click Log in. You can now log in to the newly created domain.
  10. Click Deploy to Users.The domain is now registered and available to all users in the organization.



Install SMS-Magic Converse 1.58

Overview

The installation of SMS-Magic Converse can be done without registering the domain. However, if the users are to use the Salesforce Lightning version then it is recommended that the Admin register the domain and deploy for the users.

SMS-Magic Converse works on the Salesforce platform and can be used in either the Salesforce Lightning version platform or the Salesforce Classic version platform.

Before installing the application to the organization’s production account, it is recommended that the Admin install SMS-Magic Converse in the Salesforce.com sandbox account and test it there.

Once the testing is done the Admin install SMS-Magic Converse in the organization’s production account.

 

  1. From the Salesforce AppExchange page search for SMS-Magic Converse.
    • Click here for the Salesforce AppExchange page, or
    • Click here to view the product page on the AppExchange.
  2. Click Get It Now. The remote access authorization pop-up appears.
  3. Click Allow. The Installation page appears.
  4. Click Install Here under the Install in This Org. The Installation confirmation screen appears.
  5. It is recommended to install in a Sandbox Org to test your installation. You can click Install in Sandbox under the Install in a Sandbox Org.

  6. Review the information and select I have agreed to the Terms and Conditions.
  7. Click Confirm and Install. The user profile selection screen appears.
  8. Based on the requirements of the organization, choose one of the following options:
    • Install for Admins Only.
    • Install for All Users.
    • Install for Specific Profiles.
  9. If this installation is fresh, then click Install. If this installation is an upgrade, then click Upgrade.
  10. On the Approve Third Party Access pop-up window select the relevant check box.
  11. Click Continue. The Installation status screen appears.
  12. Click Done.
  13. Once the installation is complete, the SMS-Magic Converse is in the Salesforce account in Setup > Installed Packages.



Converse Desk From Salesforce1 On Mobile 1.58

After enabling the Converse Desk on SF1, the user can access the Converse Desk on the SF1 through the mobile device. The user can see all the conversations in the Inbox of the Converse Desk.
